In 1994, Fotex Cosmetics -a separate cosmetic division within Fotex Ltd.- was set up for exclusive distribution of Revlon's and later on in 1996. for Max Factor's make up products. Initially its main activity was wholesale only.
In December 1997 Fotex Cosmetics LLC. was founded by splitting from Fotex Ltd. and from then onwards operated as an independent company. At the same time by obtaining the exclusive distribution rights for Bourjois and Kenzo products, the company started to build up its own image. From this year onwards, activity was focused on luxury cosmetics' distribution, as a result of which in 1998 the company signed exclusive distribution agreements with Givenchy, Shisheido and Cartier. Shisheido also brought along its own smaller brands, like Clé de Peau, Carita and Serge Lutens. In 2003 adding Darphin extended the scope of brand representation.
